Karl Matthews

BASILICATA, CALABRIA, CAMPANIA, LAZIO, MOLISE, PUGLIA, SICILIA

Born in Nottingham the year England won its only football World Cup, Karl has been in Italy since 1991.
He taught English in schools for 17 years and has been with DEASCUOLA since 2009 and has supported teachers both in Italy and abroad. He is particularly interested in using technologies to motivate students and helping them to discover the joys of reading.
In his freetime Karl is a keen swimmer and has his hands full with his 3 dogs.

Roy Bennett

ABRUZZO, LIGURIA, PIEMONTE, SARDEGNA, TOSCANA, UMBRIA, VALLE D'AOSTA

Born in Sunderland, in the north-east of England, Roy moved to Italy in 1993 to follow his dream of becoming a professional musician, a career he enjoyed for several years. He moved into English teaching in the mid-2000s before joining the publishing world in 2012, while further continuing his studies to obtain a DipTESOL qualification. Passionate about teacher training, he enjoys writing and delivering seminars and webinars on a range of topics. He lives in Turin with his family, and when he is not researching the latest trends in ELT, he still finds time for music and, in his more energetic moments, running.

Michael Flynn

FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA, EMILIA ROMAGNA, LOMBARDIA, MARCHE, TRENTINO ALTO ADIGE, VENETO, PIACENZA

Originally from Manchester, after obtaining his TEFL teaching qualification in October 1992, he moved to Italy and taught in Turin, Livorno and Reggio Emilia also doing six summers in Canterbury as Director of Studies for a busy summer school teaching mainly Italian students. He moved into ELT publishing in September 1999 and has been with DEASCUOLA since October 2017.
Father of a teenage daughter, he is happy to have passed his love of Craft Beer to her.  No other beers, please!
